Placement: The London Archives
During Summer 2026, I was lucky enough to be accepted onto a six-week placement at The London Archives My main project was contributing to the Tower Bridge Project: a three-year project documenting, conserving, and rehousing the plans used in the development and upkeep of the famous bridge. This involved learning about different forms of architectural photoreproductions, learning to identify each process and how to handle different vulnerabilities
Also, while working at the Archive, I was able to: Help in production Assisting in the public reading room Led and contributed to public tours Created bespoke housing Aided in exhibition/loans preparation and installation Worked on a parchment session roll
Tower Bridge Project: Tape Covered Diazotype
This diazotype came to me covered in four types of pressure sensitive tape Cellophane tape Rubber duct tape Two types of drafting cloth I removed the carriers with heat, then removed the adhesive residue with a crepe eraser I then completed the tear repairs with uniform strips of tissue, and infilled around the jagged edges
