One of my research projects was on the ethics of printer’s waste as spine linings and their removal Asking: why does the destruction of the original material through a Wheat Starch Paste poultice not sit right with me as a conservator? I trialled another method using a Gellan Gum gel to remove a spine lining of printer’s waste with success I wanted to continue to research and push the boundaries of what I accept as a conservator
